Beans come up Short
Last year I had a fantastic crop of Dwarf French Beans. This year it has all gone very wrong - and there seems to be no explanation.
I sowed 40 seeds (new, not out of date) in individual pots in my shed window as usual, in a mixture of soil and compost. Only seven beans have germinated - a 17.5% success rate. Or should that be failure?
Since a few have germinated it seems the conditions were ok. I suppose it might have been a bad batch of seeds. I have planted some outside as well but so far there are no signs of them either.
