What is this on my Spuds?
My potatoes flowered and this year I had some seeds. These are TRUE potato seeds looking like cherry tomatoes, they are highly poisonous, they take two growing seasons to mature.
Apparently conditions have to be just right for these to form. Each seed pod contains 250 - 300 seeds.
To grow, sow as any regular seed in individual cell trays. When the plant is about 12 - 18" high plant on, when it dies back after four months you should have half a dozen regular seed potatoes in the earth, and a completely new variety to boot!
If you find you like your spud above any other just keep one back each time and you have your very own new variety.
