Plundering Pigeons

If, like us, you've over-wintered brassicas on your plot then your crops are probably being eaten by hungry pigeons. They eat the plant leaves and can cause quite a bit of damage, especially to kale and early sprouting broccoli.

The remedy/prevention is to put netting over them (the brassicas, not the pigeons!), or put plenty of bird scarers in place. To be honest though we don't begrudge them a meal or two at this time of year when there is nothing else for them to eat.
