Coming Soon...

A reminder about the forthcoming allotment trip to RHS Garden Rosemoor, near Bideford in North Devon. The visit takes place on Sunday 26th July and there are quite a few people already signed up to go.

If you haven't been on one before, these outings tend to be quite informal and relaxed. Once at the garden, you can choose whether to wander around in company or do your own thing at your own pace - or a combination of the two. There is always the opportunity to meet up as a group for a cuppa at some point in the day.

The gardens are quite spectacular - especially the 'hot garden' in summer (pictured). Other areas include a rose garden, woodland garden, Mediterranean garden, formal garden, an arboretum, orchard, a large fruit and vegetable garden, a cottage garden and many more...

For added interest, this is also the Rosemoor Vintage Weekend, featuring an antiques and collectors fair organised by Devon County Antiques Fairs. There will also be a display of vintage vehicles, a fairground organ, and model railways, plus horticultural and farm machinery. Giant Garden Games will be on lawns throughout the Garden and the Torrington Silver Band will be playing on Sunday afternoon.

There is an excellent restaurant/café selling full meals, snacks, drinks and ice creams. There are a range of eating options from jacket potatoes to a Sunday carvery and even lunch picnic bags if you didn't make your own. More information about eating at RHS Rosemoor here.

For more information contact Penny on plot 12A who has very kindly organised the trip and will be able to advise of any car-share opportunities.
