Goodbye Kim

This week we say farewell to our beloved Kim. Hopefully it is more au revoir than goodbye though, as Kim will be helping out on Isabelle's plot occasionally - so we will be seeing her again. We would certainly miss that infectious laugh otherwise!

We're not sure who holds the record for having had the most allotment plots at Plain Pond, but Kim must be in contention. An allotment nomad, she has worked four different plots that we know about.

However, the demands of two jobs; teenage boys; playing in the band; a variety of pets and a large kitchen garden at home means Kim can't give her allotment the time and care it deserves and she has reluctantly - but understandably - decided to give it up.

Kim has very kindly given up her plot early, allowing the new tenants to get a good head start on next year's growing season. And who knows, in a couple of years, Kim might be back on the waiting list for another allotment herself!
