Parting with Penny

Goodbyes are not always easy. It is with reluctance that we say farewell to Penny this week as she has given up her allotment to focus on family commitments and, longer-term, more travelling.

Since joining us here at Plain Pond, Penny has become a valued member of the allotment Association. A willing participant in all the allotments have to offer, she has come on days out and workshops; suggested and organised events; taken an interest in improving the site; contributed to the blog and been supportive and encouraging of our ambitions. She even featured in the poster for our 2015 advertising campaign!

Like all of us, Penny has both despaired and triumphed over her allotment plot. Her determination and good cheer however, have always ruled the day. We will always be grateful to Penny for her generous nature and will particularly miss her wonderfully dry humour. Thoughtful as ever, Penny has given up her plot (and all it's contents!) before her tenancy runs out at the end of the year to allow the lucky new tenant to benefit from an early start.

From all of us, Penny, we wish you good luck and many safe and happy journeys ahead.
