Wild About Bats!
Last week was the designated national Wild About Gardens week, and the focus this year was on bats. As this coincided with half-term (and the run-up to Halloween) we held a fun drawing competition for the allotment kids (big and small!).
Well done to everyone who entered and we enjoyed looking at all your pictures. It was a difficult decision, but in the end we chose the fantastic picture above, by Gracie, aged 2 yrs and 11 months, as the under-5's winner and her brother Ruan, aged 7, as the over-5's winner. See Ruan's great autumn bats picture (below left). They win a prize of drawing pens and crayons to share between them.
