Making the Most of Membership

The latest edition of the National Allotment Society magazine has arrived and a couple of copies can be found in the Swap & Share box under the notice board for everyone to borrow and read.

Winter is a good time to catch up with some reading and the magazine has some interesting articles - we particularly like the one on page 23 about supporting your hard-working committee! There are a number of pertinent features in this issue as well as details of the many discounts we are eligible to receive, so well worth a read.

The National Allotment Society is the leading national organisation upholding the interests and rights of the allotment community across the UK. The cost of our membership is £3 per plot-holder in 2017 and this is paid by the Council from your annual rent. The benefits include: specialist and legal advice for allotment associations; website and quarterly magazine; access to regional representatives and allotment mentors; discounted seed scheme and insurance; growing advice; news, offers and competitions.

It's comforting to know that, even though we are such a small site, we are part of a wide network of allotments and have all the resources and support of a national association to call upon if needed.
