The Big Picnic

Glorious weather and good company in a unique setting was on offer at the allotments on Saturday as we invited plot-holders to come and enjoy a picnic with family and friends.

The site looked beautiful in the sunshine with gazebo's, bunting and balloons. Even the toilets had been cleaned! As always, much hard work by the committee members went on behind the scenes to ensure everyone had a lovely day.

The bring-you-own picnic event was inspired by National Picnic Week and the Great Get Together in memory of Jo Cox, MP. Around twenty adults and half a dozen children enjoyed food, games, convivial company and the chance to relax in pleasant surroundings.

Special thanks to Kim who, as well as offering free advice on composting, also played ukulele for the entertainment of visitors. A combination only to be found on an allotment site.
