Losing my Leeks!
So here are my leeks and yes they are going in the recycling bin. Unfortunately they had bolted, but I thought they would still be ok to eat and may just have needed a little longer cooking.
So, yesterday I cooked them for the family, mixed them with cauliflower and did a nice cheese sauce, but guess what? We had to pick out every single piece as the centre of it was very hard and, as my hubby worded it, ‘woody’; so they have to be thrown!
I guess it's my fault really as maybe if I'd been well enough to pop down and catch them as they bolted I could probably have saved a few. But never mind, I have learnt from my mistake and won’t do it again!
