Government guidance over allotment visits

There has been some confusion over whether people are allowed to go the allotments during the coronavirus outbreak. This has not only been expressed by allotment holders, but also by the general public and local residents. Thankfully, Michael Gove MP was asked this exact question on the BBC when restrictions were introduced. This is his response (see video):

Of course we understand that people may not wish to attend their plot at this current time, but it is an activity that the government is actively encouraging. Please adhere to the government's social distancing guidance and only make one visit per day.

It is also worth noting that a recent allotment ban due to coronavirus in Northampton has been overturned. You can read about it here.

Of course if restrictions change in either direction we will bring you up to date. Hopefully when this problem is behind us we can all enjoy the allotments more socially!
