Fabulous Fundraiser
Our fundraising event yesterday morning was a fantastic success! We set up our stand in the centre of Wivey at 8:30am and plot-holder after plot-holder turned up with donated home-made and home-baked goodies. After three frantic hours we'd raised £126 and sold everything except some books and dvd's, which we donated to the Community Centre.
Thanks to everyone who donated items for us to sell. Also to Dave from the Community Centre who loaned us the tables and chairs and a special thanks to Gerard at Whelans who sent out coffee to keep us going! Thanks also to all the lovely people of Wivey whom we met and enjoyed chatting to about cooking and gardening - and of course, bought all our produce. The cakes were enormously popular but we also sold jams and jellies, chutney, pickles, sourdough starters, plants, seeds, books, dvd's, home items and even frozen trout!
One of our plot-holders, Mark, was the winner of the raffle and chose the hedge trimmer - well done Mark!
