Town Clerk Visit

We were pleased to welcome Sarah, the Clerk to Wivey Town Council, to the allotments yesterday. Sarah visited as part of her job, to collect plot rents for next year from anyone who wanted to pay in person, either in cash or by cheque. Although most plot-holders pay by direct bank transfer nowadays, it's good that Sarah provides the means to pay by other options so that no-one is excluded.

We set up the table in the communal shed and and a ballot-style box was provided for people to drop their payment envelopes into so that social distancing could be strictly observed. It is always useful for Sarah to have a look around the site and meet some of the tenants, and it gives us the opportunity to discuss any issues and our plans for the future. As Sarah has two allotments of her own, and is also the Clerk for Dunster Allotments, she is uniquely placed to offer her advice and expertise, and we highly value her opinion.
